2022-25-04 | DataMapper | v. 6.1.0
Introduction
The document announces new features and changes for this release of DataMapper.
About this release
This version introduces a new integration with SharePoint through the Microsoft Graph API.
Features
New integration with SharePoint through Microsoft Graph
DataMapper can now connect to SharePoint to find sensitive data in documents. The integration was done with Microsoft Graph. SharePoint will now appear during onboarding in the list of storage locations an admin can ask their users to scan:
Users will see Sharepoint on the Data locations page, authenticate by signing in with their Sharepoint login info, and scan select SharePoint folders:
This version of DataMapper will find sensitive data in the two fundamental types of collaborative SharePoint sites:
- Communication. (Typically used for a small set of members to contribute content that is consumed by a much larger audience.)
- Groups. (Typically used to collaborate with other members of a team or with others on a specific project.)
DataMapper will scan only files found within the documents section of a site.
Coordinating data discovery in SharePoint
Since access within a company's SharePoint Sites and folders may vary and overlap among team members, users will get notifications to coordinate data discovery:
- If the user does not have access to the folders in a Site, they will get an access denied message.
- If the user selects a Site that does not store a document library or cannot be scanned, the user will be notified.
