Download DataMapper Desktop to scan local drives on Mac

To scan local drives, you must download our desktop app.
Step 1: Log in to DataMapper in your browser, go to the Data Locations tab, and look for "Local Drives"
Admin: If you have not already selected local drives as a location that should be scanned, add it now by clicking "Manage data locations" and selecting "Local Drives" as a location.
Local Drives will appear at the bottom of your list of locations:
Step 2: Download DataMapper on a Mac
Click "Download" next to Local Drives in the menu, as shown above. The download of  "DataMapper Setup.1.0.5.dmg" will start.

Step 3: Give your Mac permission to open DataMapper in system preferences

When the download is finished, double-click on the file. 

You may see these messages:

Go to your system preferences, select "Security & Privacy" to see why DataMapper was blocked, then click Open Anyway:
Enter your Mac password and click Unlock:

Click "Open":

*If you use Safari, you may also get a warning that there is no program in which it can be opened. Just click OK.

Drag the DataMapper icon to your Applications folder, then click the icon to open it:

You will be redirected to log in in your browser:
Once you've logged in, click "Open in desktop":
Now you're ready to select files from your local drives to scan:
Step 4: Scan your local drives
Select the local drives and folders you want to scan, and click "Scan".
Once the scan is in progress, you can view results as usual from the web app, on your Risk Documents tab.
The desktop application will tell you when you can close it.
Step 5: Close your desktop DataMapper
When you have finished scanning local drives (and network drives, if you choose) you can close the application. 
Whenever you want to scan local drives, you must use your desktop DataMapper. Open your desktop DataMapper anytime from your Data Locations tab, or directly on your Mac.
