DataMapper: Connector for Logic Apps
Introduction
The DataMapper connector allows you to create and manage your own data flow within Azure Logic Apps for sending data to DataMapper for risk analysis. You can connect to Azure File Shares and Azure Blob Storage through templates designed for DataMapper.
Enabling Custom Connectors in DataMapper
- Add Custom Connectors:
- Go to the Manage Locations page in the DataMapper Web Application.
- Add one or more Custom Connectors. Each Custom Connector should specify whether it connects to Azure File Shares or Azure Blob Storage.
- Provide a description for each Custom Connector to help you remember its purpose.
- You can create multiple Custom Connectors, even for different sections of the same data source.
Creating a Template in DataMapper
- Generate Templates:
- For each Custom Connector, generate a template in DataMapper to connect your data source.
- You will need to provide the data source credentials for the Custom Connector to access the data.
Once the template is generated, it will be available for you to copy and paste into Azure.
Template Information:
- The template will display the name of the Logic App to be created in Azure and the storage data source it connects to.
For each user and their template, you need to provide data source credentials for the Custom Connector to be able to connect to it.
Once the generation is complete, the template will be available for you to import by copy/paste to Azure.
The table displays the name of the Logic App that will be created in Azure as well as the storage data source it is going to connect to.
Using DataMapper Templates in Azure
Step 1: Deploy a Custom Template
- In the Azure portal, search for Deploy a custom template..
Step 2: Select the option to Build your own template in the editor
Step 3: Upload the ARM Template
- Paste the template you copied from DataMapper into the editor.
- On the left side of the screen, under Resources, you can view the resources that will be created in your Azure resource group.
Step 4: Fill in Deployment Parameters
- Click Save on the template page.
- Select your subscription, resource group, and region for the deployment.
Step 5: Update Azure File Storage API Connection
- Once the deployment is complete, locate the newly created API connection for Azure File Storage.
- Navigate to Edit API connection, and provide the storage account name and access key.
- Click Save.
Running Scans in Azure
To start a scan:
Search for the Logic App name you copied from DataMapper in the Azure search bar.
Go to the Logic App, and an initial scan will automatically begin after importing the template.
Note:
- If the scan succeeds, all files are successfully sent to DataMapper for scanning.
- If the scan fails, click Run in the resource menu under the Logic App name.
You can always run a new scan manually to detect and analyze newly added files.
By following these steps, you can efficiently use the DataMapper connector with Azure Logic Apps to manage your data sources and perform risk analysis with ease.
